As Jay-z famously recited in his song “Public Service Announcement (interlude)“, allow us to get reacquainted.
My name is Jazmine and I’m the owner of Holistic Bliss LLC also known as Holistic Bliss WV.
Founded in August 2023, Holistic Bliss was created to provide the community with herbal alternatives to a variety of bodily ailments. The goal was education and accessibility. I wanted to provide quality holistic wellness products at an affordable price giving more people the option to chose wellness.
I started with a simple vision of wanting to make herbal salves that serve multiple purposes, didn’t dry out your skin, contain harsh chemicals, and that were available for a reasonable price.
To offering over 60 different natural wellness products handcrafted to help our bodies find balance. This includes things like candles, salves, wax melts, herbal teas, and herbal bath soaks.
The idea was to provide options that have less side effects than normal pharmaceuticals and work as a whole body alternative to balancing one’s body. Herbal medicine has been in practice for centuries and still plays a medicinal role today. Many pharmaceutical medicines include ingredients that are derived from plant medicine and the compounds within a plant.
After moving to West Virginia in 2020, my love of plants and plant medicine grew as my garden and access to local medicinal plants grew. The COVID pandemic really kick-started my desire to want to learn more natural ways to cleanse and reduce symptoms of various infections and ailments.
If ever there was a time to listen to the universe, it was coming in heavy when I was ready to start my business. I had a few family members plant the idea, had just graduated with my degree in business, and was 10 days away from my 30th birthday. (WV had a young entrepreneurs program which no longer gives the option of reduced business start up fees after someone turns 30) In the short span of a month, I turned 30, graduated, and started a business. It was exhilarating and exhausting!
I started with maybe 5 herbs from my previous garden and a working knowledge of only 1 or 2.
I was a baby herbalist.
Realistically, I still am but my knowledge now compared to back then has grown. The time I’ve spent watching countless videos, listening to podcasts, reading, and truly becoming a student to herbalist and herbal medicine has made a profound impact on my life.
As I wrap up my first year in business, I’m excited for future offerings, learning more, and getting our products in the hands of those who need it and want to try herbal medicine. The first year took off and I really can’t wait until you guys can see whats to come.
